The inspiration for MORMOR stems from fond childhood memories learning to make æbleskiver at “pancake” breakfasts in Minneapolis with my grandparents. Not only was this a special experience I shared with my grandparents, it was an amazing opportunity to connect with others who became mesmerized watching the æbleskiver take shape.
MORMOR is named after my grandmother – Grethe Petersen – who I call “Mormor,” which translates to “Mom’s Mom” in Danish. Not only has she taught me everything I know about making æbleskiver, she even taught the Cooking Channel a thing or two about Danish cooking on an episode of My Grandmother’s Ravioli.
